With many years’ experience in the outdoor walking and climbing sector, Orkney Northern Skies now offers guided walks and single pitch climbing sessions to clients in Orkney mainland, Hoy and the outer isles. Set-up in Orkney 2009, the business is based in Orphir (Orkney). With fully qualified mountain leader and single pitch instructor available, Orkney Northern Skies has the ability to provide a memorable experience of a holiday in Orkney. Guiding clients to enjoy walks according to ability and ambitions from may 2010 onwards, at weekends and during school holidays, the company provides a variety of guided walks and climbs.
The company is run by Don Husband who has many years’ experience of walking and climbing in Scotland. Featuring guided walks, from easy to more adventurous routes on Orkney mainland, Rousay, Hoy and some outer isles for groups or individuals. Available at weekends and summer holidays from May 2010 onwards, the walks are also suitable for family groups including children from 10 years old and upwards. Introductory climbing and abseiling sessions for groups and individuals are also available. As are introductory navigation courses. Orkney Northern Skies has wide customer base, based on visitors holidaying in orkney, including family groups, individuals and visiting walking parties.
